Asked: 22$ lip gloss might be ruined! Help!!!!!!!?

Okay I get this brand new lipgloss,one with a brush! Not one you squeeze out a tube.. Anyway… cost 22 bucks and I love it! Only my friend used it last week and yesterday she tells me she has upper respiratory infection and strep throat and all this other junk!! Is my lipgloss safe to use???? Or no!?? I'll throw it away in a heartbeat if it's possibly infected!!
